Introduction
The away-day is part presentation based, part social; it allows us to get an overview of other work going on in the department and escape from the confines of Infolab for a few days. The event is free to attending PhD (and MPhil/PhD) students!
We are planning to go to Wales in July 23/24th, staying in a castle, participating in activities and visiting some caves.
Location
We are visiting the Brecon Beacons National Park in mid-Wales, staying in Craig-y-Nos Castle (on Google Maps), and on day 2 visit some caves. Both are near each other on the side of a hill.
What happens next?
We are presently finalising details, so please check your inbox for questions about food preferences, etc.
If you want to go but were late in replying, please let us know and we will put you on the waiting list
If you cannot make it after all, please let us know ASAP so that we can allocate your place to someone else. The places are pre-booked, so if you just do not turn up, it will waste money for the department.
Proposed Schedule
The schedule for the 2 days is presented below. It is still flexible and we welcome suggestions, both to structure and content of individual activities
Day 1 - Monday 23rd July 07
